Your bank's exchange rate has a margin built in. We show you how much.
Independent FX cost checks for UK importers and wholesalers. Our benchmarking engine checks your payments against the market rate at the time of each trade and shows you the gap in pounds. Start with two trades, and get your number within one working day.
The first check is free. We never ask for bank logins, and nothing changes in how you pay your suppliers.

What could a hidden margin cost you?
Move the sliders to match your business. Your actual margin can only be measured from your own payments, which is what the free check does.
Illustrative only. Margins of 1–3% are common on bank payments; specialist providers typically charge under 1%.
How the free check works
It takes you about two minutes. You'll have a number the next working day.
-
Forward two confirmations
Search your inbox for "payment confirmation" or "trade confirmation" and forward any two recent ones. We only need the date, time, amounts and currency.
-
We benchmark each trade
Our engine works out the rate you actually received and compares it with independent market rate data for that moment.
-
You get the number
A short note showing the margin on each trade, as a percentage and in pounds, and what that suggests across your annual volume.
-
You decide what's next
If the gap is worth pursuing, we can review 12 months of payments line by line and give you evidence you can take to your bank. If it isn't, we'll say so.
The work is in the checking, so we built an engine for it
Checking one payment by hand is possible. Checking a year of them properly, across every currency, takes days of finance time and still leaves room for error. Our engine does it for you, and your team's only job is a data export.
- Every payment, not a sample
- Each foreign-currency payment is matched to independent market rate data from the time it was made, however many there are.
- Your real rate, worked out
- We calculate the rate from the amounts actually paid and received, rather than trusting the rate printed on the confirmation, and keep fixed fees separate.
- Checked before it reaches you
- Automatic checks catch duplicates, mismatched currencies and results that don't add up, and every report is reviewed by a person before it's sent.
- Drift spotted over time
- Margins tend to creep. Run quarter by quarter, the engine shows when your rate starts to slip, and by how much.
- Measured against your agreement
- Share your terms with the bank and we'll show which payments were charged above the margin you agreed.
Three levels of review
Start with the free check. Most businesses only go further once they've seen their own number.

Independent by design
- We're not a bank, broker or currency provider, and we don't make payments on your behalf.
- We don't resell providers or take commissions, so the numbers aren't steering you anywhere.
- We tell you what you paid. What you do with it, whether that's renegotiating, switching or nothing, is your call.
Careful with your data
- We only need dates, times, amounts and rates. We never ask for logins or account access.
- Payment exports are shared through a secure upload link, not email attachments.
- Your data is used only for your review and deleted within 90 days of finishing the work.
- Happy to sign your NDA before you send anything.
Built for UK businesses that pay overseas suppliers
If you send regular payments in euros, dollars or yuan, the margin adds up quickly, and thin trading margins make every pound of it matter.
- Importers and wholesalers
- Food and drink, chemicals and plastics, consumer goods, building materials.
- Manufacturers buying abroad
- Raw materials and components priced in EUR or USD.
- Typically £5m to £100m turnover
- Large enough for the margin to matter, usually without a dedicated treasury team.
Questions finance directors ask us
Why is the first check free?
Two trades take us very little time to benchmark, and the number speaks for itself. If the margin turns out to be small, we'll tell you, and that's the end of it.
Do you need access to our bank accounts?
No. We never ask for logins, passwords or account access. For the free check you forward two confirmation emails. For a full review, someone on your team exports the payment history from your online banking and uploads it through a secure link.
How do you know what the market rate was?
Our engine uses independent market rate data from the time of each trade, and every report names the source so you can check it.
Will our bank know?
Not unless you tell them. Many businesses use the findings to renegotiate quietly with their existing bank rather than move.
We use a broker, not a bank. Is this still relevant?
Yes. Broker margins are usually lower than the high-street banks', but they vary and can widen over time. The check shows you exactly where you stand.
Will you deal with our bank or take legal action for us?
No. We give you the figures and the evidence behind them. Whether and how you raise it with your bank is your decision, and if you want legal advice on your agreement, that should come from your own solicitor.
What happens to our data?
It's used only for your review, stored securely, and deleted within 90 days of finishing the work. You can read the details in our privacy notice.
Analysis services only
We analyse the FX costs on your payments. We're not a bank, broker or payment provider, and we never hold or move your money.
Our reports are not financial, investment or legal advice, and we don't act for clients in claims or disputes. What you do with the findings is your decision.
Start with two trades.
Forward any two recent payment or trade confirmations and we'll reply within one working day with the margin on each, in pounds.
